new 125cc Quantum Core engine is engineered to provide better fuel
efficiency without affecting power delivery specially between in the
riding range (0-60 Kmh). Hero Honda uses a combination of various
technologies to achieve this result.
Digital CDI - Advanced
Microprocessor Ignition System
Digital CDI has 10 stage mapping between ignition timing and rpm
thereby providing precise ignition timing at various engine rpms.
This technology helps economise on fuel consumption.
Throttle Control Ignition System (TCIS)
Digital Throttle Sensor is added in carburettor, which changes the
ignition timing according to the engine rpm, thereby ensuring better
combustion of fuel, resulting in increased fuel efficiency.
Friction Reduction
a. Needle bearing has been added on rocker arm as well as rocker arm
shaft to reduce friction thereby enhancing the fuel efficiency
b. Piston has been modified and tin coating has been added on piston
so as to reduce friction leading to better performance
c. Width of cam lobe has been reduced to reduce friction, thereby
increasing the efficiency of the engine
Modification in port design of engine valves
The port design of engine valves has been modified to prevent loss
in flow of fuel and air mixture,
Reduction in load of camshaft
With the change in the design of valve actuating mechanism, load on
the cam shaft has been reduced, resulting in better performance,
Change in material of cylinder head
Aluminium die cast cylinder head with cast iron has been adopted for
better heat dissipation, resulting in improved performance of the
engine,
Additional earthing device
The additional earthing device ensures reduction in resistance and
improved spark intensity resulting in increased efficiency of the
